Missouri Political Consulting

Win the race you’re actually running.

I run communications, fundraising, organizing, and management for candidates and committees across Missouri who are serious about winning. You bring the conviction. I build the operation that puts it in front of voters, on the ballot and long after it.

Your name is on the ballot. My name is on the work. That means my reputation rides on your race the same as yours does, and I treat it that way.

What I do

Full-service, start to finish.

Every engagement is built around your needs and the agreement we sign. Some clients hire me for a single race. Others keep me on through the year. Here is the ground I cover.

01

Communications

Advertisements, graphics, literature, yard signs, mailers, postcards, stationery, press releases. I design and build websites too, the same way I built this one, along with branding and logos clean enough that anyone on your team can pick them up and run with them. Fair warning: I am meticulous about every word and every pixel.

02

Digital Targeting & Programmatic Ads

I put your video and digital ads in front of the exact voters your race depends on, down to the household. Using programmatic advertising and voter-file targeting, your message follows the people who can move your number across the streaming services, websites, apps, and social feeds they already use. No more paying to reach a whole county when you only need a precinct, and because it runs digitally we can watch what is landing and adjust while the campaign is still live.

03

Fundraising & Reporting

I build call-time lists using proprietary data and techniques, ready for phones, texts, letters, or email. I write and send the appeals when the calendar calls for it, with the strategic planning to back them up. I am well versed in filing with both the Missouri Ethics Commission and the Federal Election Commission, and I am happy to serve as Treasurer or Deputy Treasurer for a campaign, PAC, or continuing committee.

04

Organizing

Parties, events, tours, signature drives, volunteer programs. I recruit and run door-to-door canvassing operations, paid and volunteer. I handle yard sign placement and upkeep, along with the large signs and billboards that put your name on the busiest roads in the district. And I get you in the room with the advocacy groups, labor, civic organizations, and community leaders who decide whether your race has wind at its back.

05

Management

Overseeing the high-stakes parts of a campaign so nothing slips through. Call-time management, which yes, includes a healthy amount of candidate babysitting. I help you figure out which endorsements are actually worth chasing and then help you land them. Body-person support and event prep for when you walk into the rooms that matter.

06

Strategy & Continuing Work

Campaigns end. The work does not have to. I keep long-term clients on retainer, including PACs and continuing committees that need a steady hand year-round. I also do political analysis, strategic marketing, and message strategy for organizations that want to be sharper about how they show up. One thing I am not is a lobbyist. I build operations and shape messages. I do not lobby officials on anyone’s behalf.

How I work

I expect you to give it everything. So do I.

The candidates I take on are the ones willing to do the hard parts: the calls, the doors, the long nights. I am right there in it with you. I do not hand your campaign off to an intern and check back in October.

I work on a retainer basis, with your monthly fee set by the services we discuss and agree on. Before any work begins, I charge a one-time setup fee to get up to speed on your campaign. That fee is separate from your retainer and does not count toward your first month. And when you only need one thing done, I take on freelance contracts and one-off projects, priced by the difficulty of the task. We settle all of it together, up front, so there are no surprises later.

  • One operator, all in. When you hire me, you get me, not a roster of subcontractors learning your race.
  • Compliant by default. MEC and FEC reporting done right and on time, because a clean filing is the cheapest insurance in politics.
  • Meticulous on the details. The mailer, the list, the disclaimer line. The details are where races are quietly won or lost.

Who you’re hiring

Dustin Bax

I founded ReDEFINE Politics to give Missouri candidates the kind of operation that usually only the big races can afford. I have been around campaigns since college, and I went looking for the parts most people avoid, like campaign budgets and the disclosure deadlines that quietly sink the unprepared.

I have kept the books as a treasurer and filed the reports myself, so when I tell you a filing is clean, I have put my own name on that kind of work. I am direct and organized, and I care more about getting your race right than about keeping things comfortable. If you want a consultant who tells you what you want to hear, I am not your guy. If you want one who tells you the truth and helps you win anyway, let’s talk.
